Carousel HORSE roundingboard panel from Boblo Island Carousel Detroit Michigan, auctioned off in 1993.
Originally opened around 1906 as the park’s first proper ride, Boblo’s carousel was a beautiful example of the work of the famed Coney Island-based carousel designers William F. Mangels and Marcus Illions. Riders were able to select from 44 horses, two goats, and two deer, each intricately carved. Great Outer Rounding board with 2 Art Deco Mermaids with wings (angels?) flanking the center. Click for details.
This Art Deco looking piece, would be great as a wall decoration, or headboard.
Background colors are varying shades of green.
Winged Mermaids are holding a fabric drape in deep lavender and gold.
Their tails are green, tan, blue-green. Scroll detail on the bottom is in red/red-orange.
Off white background, some paint chipping.

The head measures 22 inches long by 20 inches wide, and about 10 inches deep, weight about 5 pounds.

They are very lightweight hard Plastic, with all the light sockets.
They do have some repairs or cracks.

Wonderful Pair of Cupid/Cherub heads with wings.This rare pair of original wood carved pieces are both Left and Right , looking up to the heavens? Fantastic carving, open mouths with little teeth. One has an open mouth as if speaking, the other more of a smile.
Older Paint, beautifull done, some chips and aging varnish.
The each measure about 25 inches wide, 15 inches tall, and the heads are 7 inches tall. there is one porcelain light fixture opening in each.
