    You will also receive a photo record of the restoration and painting (if we did the work) and a Certificate of Authenticity.

           This Carousel horse is an Antique Jumpers, traveling horse, circa 1915-­30.

    Middle or 2nd row horse. Herschell-Spillman manufactured in Tonawanda, New York. This carousel company produced its first portable carousels in America sometime from 1915 on,  This is a Traveler Machine horse, for up and down mechanism. He is an Middle Row Horse , tucked head no Jewels. 

            Middle row horses have double blankets, and a curved shaped saddle. He has a  bridle with a  design. He is not one of the fancier ones done for the more elaborate machines.  This animal has wood eyes and a wood Cropped tail. 

            Constructed of all wood, and is hollow. We have legs for you to repair and attach to go with them. The condition of this horse is fair, all unrestored. The seams are all separating at he head to body, legs to body, knees. 

    No Belly plate He does have all his original parts. 

                    Measures 58 x 26.

    There  original paint on him,  This horse it it’s present unrestored condition, is for sale as he is.

          If you want him stripped , repaired, stripped down to original paint we can arrange for that at an addition cost. Just e-mail us any questions. Base and pole set additional.

    Armitage Herschell Track Machine Carousel Horse in Primer

          This is an Antique Armitage Herschell track horse , circa C. 1900-­1915.

    He is an outer Row Stargazer, with no Jewels. Known for the Floating saddle with a diamond and heart design carved into the back of the saddle. This animal has glass eyes that have been replaced, and has a horse hair tail, constructed of all wood, and is hollow. 

           The metal square belly plate is original. Armitage Herschell New York carousel company produced its first portable

     carousels in America sometime from 1870 on, and first started producing Jumping

     horse carousels in 1910. This is a Track Machine horse, before the up and down

     mechanism, and did not make transition to a jumping machine. The condition of your horse fair, all restored some issues, both front legs cracked at the seams, cracks at the neck both vertical and horizontal, bondo repairs., and painted in Primer.

    Missing one bridle ring. 

    This is a sweet faced, desirable horse.....will need some repairs but is close to being ready to paint. This is a nice project horse.

    Base set not included.

            This all wood antique horse circa 1900-15.  Made by Parker company

    Abilene, Kansas. Acquired from a Morgantown, PA carousel that was being broken up in 1988 at auction. Parker Jumper Outer Row Semi Armored ,Stargazer head position, in park paint, with large tiger heads on the cantle, and a jewel on the bridle & horsehair tail, glass eyes, metal horseshoes.

          This horse is a standard size Traveling jumper.

     Measures  58" L x 45" H. He is an outer  Double blanket with breast collar, one fringed blanket and one armored style blanket.  He is a typical Parker, compact, easy to transport.  He is a Tri-colored Pinto horse, Brown, Black & white, with a black mane and horse hair tail.   

             Condition.  She has crack at the neck body seam. Metal bracing on the front legs, crack front knees. Other seam separation starting. The metal banding was done to repair or hold the legs together … She should have had  rings for the reins, and Stirrup holders on the sides.

            This all wood antique horse circa 1900-15.  Made by Parker company

    Abilene, Kansas. Acquired from a Morgantown, PA carousel that was being broken up in 1988 at auction.

           Parker Jumper Outer Row "Rose Horse" , Tucked head position, in park paint, with large cabbage roses on the side and the cantle, and a jewel on the bridle & horsehair tail, glass eyes. 

    This horse is a standard size Traveling jumper. Measures  55" L x 44" H. She is an outer  Double blanket with breast collar, some decorative painting on the sides. 

           She is a typical Parker, compact, easy to transport.  Carving on the back of the saddle a cluster of Roses, horse hair white tail, & metal horseshoes.    

             Condition.  She has some seam cracks on the knees, yellowed varnish on her face, metal bracing on the front legs. Body to leg seam on back leg cracking. The neck , body joint is separating, the metal banding was done to repair or hold the legs together … She should have had  rings for the reins, and Stirrup holders on the sides.

    This all wood antique horse circa 1915-20.  Made by Parker company

     ( Abilene), Kansas, USA), 

             This is an Outer Row jumper, Peek-a-boo Mane, Stargazer head up position, with glass eyes, jewels. He is a typical Parker, compact, easy to transport.         Boar  Carving on the back of the saddle, and Dragon head on the side, Wood tail, an animal, scroll, and has  rings for the reins, and metal original belly plate, metal horseshoes. Measures 60 inches long and 36 inches tall.

            He has layers of old park paint, probably many layers.  The neck , body joint is separating, and possibly the legs,   Wood looks to be in fair condition.  Usually the joints have rot due to the use of original iron nails.

              This horse is a standard size Traveling jumper. Head up, Stargazer position, he is an outer  Double blanket,one fringed, with breast collar with Dragon head with jewels, some decorative painting on the sides.

    Parker Carousel Horse Jumper With Rifle and Rabbit

            This all wood antique horse circa 1900-15.  Made by Parker company

    Abilene, Kansas. Acquired from an auction in New York in about 1984 .

     Parker Jumper Outer Row Hunter Horse with Rifle and Rabbit ,Stargazer head position,, with Rabbit on the cantle. and several jewels on the bridle & side. He has a wood tail, glass eyes, metal horseshoes.

          He is an Outer Row horse Single blanket with breast collar, fringed breast collar and Rifle scabbard, and sword on the blanket.  He is a typical Parker, compact, easy to transport. 

             This horse is a standard size Traveling jumper. Measures  55" L x 44" H.  

             Condition.  This horse has been completely restored and painted by the American Carousel Museum in Ohio, in exchange for allowing him to be on display there. The horse is White with a Gold mane and Tail, blue, gray, gold , and silver. Missing rings for the reins, and Stirrup holders on the sides. He is in perfect condition.

    Antique Wood Dentzel  Jumper Carousel Horse

             Measurements are app. 45"x 65"long ,  all wood antique, ‘ original glass eyes. He is Jumper horse, ..both front and back legs in the same position. Head position is a Stargazer, head looking up at the sky( glass eyes)...carved scallop on breast strapping with a decorative carving holding the flank strap. He is an inner or middle row horse, no jewels. Horse hair tail.

             This horse was carved circa 1910-1925  in the Dentzel Factory in New York. He is a large jumper horse, made to go up and down.   He is in old Park paint, an older restoration. This horse is a Gray Body with a Darker Gray mane and horse hair tail.  Black Saddle, with light and dark gray trim. The blanket and some trim is painted a Salmon color.  

            Purchased about 1975 from the Carousel Man in Coney Island. He might have come from a Dentzel/Muller machine from the Pennsylvania area. It would take further research to verify which carousel.   

          Condition issues,Wood looks to be in very good shape, there is a  seam problem beginning at the neck, and hairline cracks in the knees (typical for his age) in these photos. Includes base and no brass pole.

            Wood Antique Carousel Jumper in excellent condition except for joint crack (back Right leg) done in moving (we will repair).   

            This Stargazer, (head up), Inner Row Jumper is 48 inches long, Rectangular Breast and Flank straps, with lots of jewels. Wood base and brass poles included.

             This horse is in Park Paint with old varnish. Original jewels, a few missing we will fill in. Originally had lots of gold leafing.

            Carved 1915-27 by M. C. Illions and Sons Carousell Works  in Coney Island,N.Y.

             Marcus Illions is recognized as one of the two greatest artists of the carousel world. His masterpiece horses have very flamboyant heads and fairly well decorated bodies. Illions carved all the heads for his horses himself.

              We are researching which carousel these 2 horses came from..will update soon.
