Carousel Wood Lion, Contemporary Carving

        This majestic Carved Carousel Lion, is in stain to show the beauty of the wood.

Contemporary Wood Dentzel Hippocampus/Seahorse

         Half Horse half Fish, this carving Is as shown in the  photo # 1 & 3. 

        The Dark seahorse just sold. One left in stock.

 A copy of the Dentzel Carousel  Hippocampus.

  This carving was made by S&S wood carvers. 

         He has glass eyes, a wood base and brass poles. 

        Working on adding some highlights to him now.

Measures about 60 inches long and to the top of the pole about 60 inches, top of the Hippocampus about 50 inches.

Carousel Reindeer Jumper by Chance Carousels

        Just in time for Christmas, this wonderful Fiberglass Jumping Reindeer!

He is off a dismantled carousel (we do have the original pole with hook top if you want it it place of a base set).

        Working on touching him up for you, has some wear.

 Antique European Carousel Pig 68"long

         Double Seater

      This Beautiful Wood, antique Carousel pig has old park paint and some original paint underneath.

She or He has blue glass eyes, elaborately carved  double saddle and blanket. 

Looks like the top pole hole had been filled at some time during his life. 

Wood curled tail. Metal curved bracket Hold handle.

         English, direction he is running clockwise. 

      This is the nicest , largest Pig to come up for sale in many years.

      He measures 68 inches long, and ...inches tall....life size!

French Nodder Head Donkey 48"tall

      Bayol  French Donkey, head is separate from the body on a Nodding hinge, he is a Standing animal. 

All wood with brass fittings. He has glass eyes, beautiful long ears.

The animal is in many layers of old Park Paint. Seams are dried and cracking, needs restoration.

       Measurements 48" tall by .......long.

       Made in France circa 1890's. Gustave Bayol carved mostly farm animals which were common in the French countryside. 

        We are offering him as he stands (restoration additional cost.)

Carousel Cat Dentzel Style

         Large Carousel Style Cat size Indonesian import, made for the decorative market. 

Not an antique, they started making and importing these horses in the late 1970’s. 

This Carousel Cat is the 48 inch long .

        This carving is a copy of a Dentzel Carousel Cat with a Fish in his mouth. They added some details, yellow glass eyes, and a older coat of paint and a stand and pole 1.5 inch not as originals (2 inch).   The Cat’s body may or may not be hollow.  She measures about 48 inches from tip of tail to edge of right front paw.  She has detailed fur paws and the scales on the fish.

         The Cat comes with the wood base and poles as seen in photos.

Contemporary Standing Giraffe

          This Carousel Style Giraffe is a Medium size (60 inches tall, 46 inches long) 

Contemporary carving, made for the decorative market.

          Not an antique, a newer copy of an antique giraffe. He does have glass eyes. 

Decorative carved tassels and Parrot on the back of the saddle. 

           Much like the copy carvings, but repainted.           

         The leg to body seams, and neck to body seams are in good condition no cracking.

Great decor for a child's room!

Fiberglass Dentzel Carousel Prancing Goat

 This Goat is a version of an early Dentzel , Prancing Goat, inner row, circa 1900-1905. 

He is Fiberglass, not an antique, strictly for decoration.

        There has been much discussion in the past of this being Loof or Dentzel-Muller, EJ Morris. Several just like him, tucked head with the tongue showing,  have been sold both ways. Please remember in the early carousel industry theses carvers sometimes worked for whichever company had work available for them. He is most similar to the goat on the Enchanted carousel, Castle Park. in carved animals and two sleighs that are circa 1904.

         He is Fiberglass.  Tucked Head, no Jewels, floating saddle is typical of the early Muller, while he worked for Dentzel.  The Plain breast collar and flank strap with no secondary carving.       

           Measures about 51 inches tall, 63 inches long.
