Parker Carousel Horse Jumper with Roses
This all wood antique horse circa 1900-15. Made by Parker company
Abilene, Kansas. Acquired from a Morgantown, PA carousel that was being broken up in 1988 at auction.
Parker Jumper Outer Row "Rose Horse" , Tucked head position, in park paint, with large cabbage roses on the side and the cantle, and a jewel on the bridle & horsehair tail, glass eyes.
This horse is a standard size Traveling jumper. Measures 55" L x 44" H. She is an outer Double blanket with breast collar, some decorative painting on the sides.
She is a typical Parker, compact, easy to transport. Carving on the back of the saddle a cluster of Roses, horse hair white tail, & metal horseshoes.
Condition. She has some seam cracks on the knees, yellowed varnish on her face, metal bracing on the front legs. Body to leg seam on back leg cracking. The neck , body joint is separating, the metal banding was done to repair or hold the legs together … She should have had rings for the reins, and Stirrup holders on the sides.
