This Horse is a Traveler size Jumper. Jumpers have all 4 legs off the ground, has some Jewels, he is an Inner (depending on the size of the carousel) with replaced Glass painted eyes, flowing mane and old Horse Hair tail, in the Tucked Head position.         He measures......

This horse may have several layers of old Paint, there are metal strips on the knees, and seamlines starting to show cracks. Looks like it was repainted several years ago.

This horse is in several layers of old Park Paint, There might be some original paint under all the layers.

Herschell Spillman’s  New York carousel company produced its first portable carousels in America sometime from 1900 on, and first started producing Jumping horse carousels in 1915. This is a Portable Machine horse, after the up and down mechanism was made. This style was used in both Allan Herschell and Herschell-Spillman , based on when they were partners and what was in both their stock at that time. This body horse was on many carousels.

He is mounted on an iron pole, and nice wood base.
