Poppy, is from the SPILLMAN ENGINEERING COMPANY, NORTH TONAWANDA, NY.
This carousel horse was carved in the factory, in a production line fashion by carvers here from Europe circa 1915-25.
Spillman horses all had the extreme Bubble butts, and nicer secondary carvings. Large Poppy Flower on the side, with Tassels on the blankets and fringe on the bridle. Replaced glass eyes.
This is an ORIGINAL "TUCKED HEAD" Outer Row Jumper.
He has a nicely carved flowing mane, a decorated double blanket with fringes, metal horseshoes. Measures 55 inches long, 28 inches tall . Painted white with Gray mane and tail, with Gray shading and points.
Outer row horses had more carved decorative saddles and bridles, a wooden carved horse .
Jewels that are new, he may or may not have had them original.
The condition this horse he has cracks at the seams of the neck and the tail is separated.
